Bristol To Bath Cycle Path

A cycle path can be like a motorway

If you have ever been on the cycle path during rush hour, you will know what I am talking about.

There is a slow lane and a fast lane you may use to overtake. However, before you do, make sure to check no one is whizzing down on the fast lane.

What is more, much like a motorway at rush hour, you will probably have to wait for a gap to join the cycle path at rush.

So incredibly organised and so very British.

Other cyclists are your best source of knowledge

When you are a newbie to cycling like me, you have many doubts and questions to bombard your cyclist friends with.

But I have now come to realise you can learn just as much by watching more experienced cyclists on my way to work. Why use two pannier bags when you can squeeze it all in one and save you the hassle?

Some people take their cycling very, very seriously

There are the average people like me, and possibly you, who quietly go around town in an upcycled bike, second-hand helmet and an old hi-vis jacket.

And then there are the “cyclists”; a man (sorry guys), fully clad in Lycra whizzing around at breakneck speeds on a fancy bike worth thousands. On the cycle path, they are easily spotted on the fast lane with the rest of us rushing to move out of their way.
