Ploughcroft Cottage was originally three 18th century cottages which have been lovingly restored retaining beamed ceilings and original stone fireplaces. Situated in an elevated position above Halifax and set in a rural environment with panoramic views over the town and surrounding countryside.
All our rooms have en suite facilities with wc, handbasin and shower, central heating, freeview TV, hospitality tray, and free wi-fi.
Situated at the top of The Shibden Wall (Lea Lane) one of the top hill climbs in the UK hundreds of cyclists pass Ploughcroft Cottage every year.
The Shibden Wall and Cragg Vale cycle climbs are challenging why not enjoy that deserved break with family or friends at Ploughcroft Cottage B&B resting at the top of the Shibden Wall in Ploughcroft Lane. Alternatively enjoy our self-catering holiday cottage at Pule just across the field from the B&B. Both the holiday cottage and B&B are only a 5 minute drive from Halifax town centre and the magnificent Grade I ‘Jewel in the Crown’ newly restored Piece Hall, which hosted the final day Depart of the Tour de Yorkshire 2018.
At 1000ft above sea level both cottages have spectacular views over Calderdale’s rural landscape. We offer off-road parking and secure cycle storage.
The Yorkshire Dales, Haworth, Hebden Bridge and Skipton are all less than an hour away. You deserve that break, you’ll enjoy the challenge and the Yorkshire hospitality.
