NOVA Eroica, two fantastic weekends between Switzerland and Tuscany

Last weekend was a cycling weekend celebrating sport, food and wine is happening in Switzerland in an unrivalled setting. The city of Sion, the oldest city in Switzerland with its castles and medieval atmosphere, will set the scene for NOVA Eroica Switzerland, which will take place along hilly roads, flanked by vineyards, along the Rhone river. The ride is characterised by climbs and forests and passes through the picturesque village of Albinen and the spa town of Loèche-les-Bains.
The cycling programme is very interesting:

Saturday 18 June, two different routes are planned: the Via Alpina and the Via Rodano.
The via Alpina covers 113 km, with 2,250 m elevation gain. The event starts at 9.00 am; with five gourmet food stops along the route. The 75 km Via Rodano and 950 m elevation gain starts at 10.00 am and offers four gourmet food stops. Riders can participate with gravel and cyclo-cross bikes.

Sunday 19 June, two routes are scheduled: Via Gusto Lungo and Via Gusto Corto. Via Gusto Lungo, 49 km and 270 m elevation gain, starts at 9.00 am and offers six gourmet food stops. Via Gusto Corto covers 24 km, with 100 m elevation gain, and starts at 10.00 am. There are three gourmet food stops. Vintage bicycles are recommended. However, any type of bicycle, except e-bikes, can be used.

On the last weekend of June, a new appointment with NOVA Eroica this time in Tuscany. Indeed, Buonconvento, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy in the province of Siena, will host the sixth edition of the event that started the gravel movement in Italy. Saturday 25 June will include a race against the clock. The NOVA Eroica formula involves long stretches where riders cycle all together, then the challenge will be sparked along some sections of the route where times will be recorded for the final classification. Several routes are on offer; the individual time trial will be active on the long and medium routes. In detail, there are three routes: respectively 62 km (“Val d’Arbia”), 85 km (“Crete Senesi”) and 130 km (“Terra di Siena”). All riders will set off at 8.00 am.

Sunday 26 June NOVA Eroica will be dedicated to the family, with mothers, fathers and above all youngsters and children the stars of the day.
