Dear cyclist,

Cycling in autumn is anything but predictable. It can bring rain, sleet, and snow, or, if we’re lucky, warmer temperatures and sunshine.

Indeed, you may encounter several of these scenarios during a single ride, making it difficult to decide what to wear on the bike.

Fortunately, Beth Turner has reviewed the Chilco Anorak from 7mesh, a Canadian cycling apparel brand.

Also included in this Season Training issue is Ian Jenner’s monthly Ask the Coach column, in which he answers your questions. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

As winter approaches and the days shorten and the weather worsens, even the most hardy cyclists retreat to their pain cave to continue training – but what makes the best indoor training setup? On page 24, you’ll find out.

The start of the year is a time for new resolutions, but without a plan, your accomplishments are likely to be limited to your Instagram story. Go to page 40 to learn how to get started in 2023.

Kate Taylor BSc, on page 46, assists us in returning to training after being ill.

Do you intend to ride your bike in the snow? Read all about it on page 70, where Richard Scrase describes how he moved to Norway and discovered that the cycling conditions were drastically different.

On page 14, Paul Villecourt has written an amazing piece about cycling with his canoe in southern France.

Scot Whitlock’s La Véloscénie Orne to Flers story spans four regions, eight counties, two national parks, and five UNESCO World Heritage sites, connecting Notre-Dame de Paris to Mont Saint-Michel. That’s all on page 62.

That’s all I’ve got for you this month.

Happy cycling!
