WRRKNIT CAPSULE COLLECTION

Cast your mind way back to April 2021, a time when the UK was just being treated with a glimpse of freedom after one of the many lockdowns caused by COVID-19 and many of us were getting back out to spend time with friends and family. Here at BIKE Magazine, we were bringing you the best and most exciting new stories and equipment, including the WRRKNIT reflective socks.

In 2019, founder Melanie Cohen lovingly set out to create WRRKNIT’s signature styles that have been designed with a bold and clean aesthetic made to accentuate both functionality and fashion. Each style hosts a bright and playful design made to evoke happiness and is greatly partnered with technical features including moisture-wicking properties, arch support to help absorb shock, targeted cushioning in the heel and toe, mesh ventilation, and a seamless toe for added comfort.

In our 2021 review, we mentioned what we would like to see from WRRKNIT in the future, including more colours and designs, and rest assured their new capsule collection does not disappoint.

The new collection introduces 2 brand-new designs that perfectly capture the essence of the WRRKNIT brand, made to remain loyal to the same high standards as their previous products, each pair of socks is made with REPREVE® recycled polyester fiber, a material that comes from plastic bottles that have been found in the ocean.

The capsule collection’s new quarter socks have a six-inch leg with patterns including a Chevron and Tipping Top Stripe for both men and women which are available in three eye-catching colour combinations. In keeping with their previous range, each design is made with a reflective strip to enhance visibility while cycling, walking, hiking, and running.

Tried and tested for performance, I have been wearing my WRRKNIT socks for a little over two weeks when I go for my run each morning. As someone who has never invested in any form of proper sporting gear, I was unaware of the difference and benefits I would gain from a specially made item.

I have been extremely impressed by the performance and sustainability of the socks. Staying true to their word, the socks are a comfortable fit with a noticeable breathability to them and the reflective strip integrated into the back of the socks has enhanced my safety, especially in the particularly unpleasant weather we often see in the UK. Even after being put through vigorous use and multiple washes, the colours remain just as bright as when I received them and the socks show no signs of damage at all.

What I like most about the designs, is that while they are bright and functional, they are also sleek and stylish which means that they can be worn anytime, anywhere, and with anything. As with their previous range, the sizes are separated into men’s and women’s, on a one size, fits all basis.

Both the Chevron and Tipping Top Stripe styles will be available in their three color combinations this spring on www.wrrknit.com.
