the Velodroom

Yes, the Velodroom is a bike light, but it’s so, SO much more than that. First of all, you don’t need to worry about forgetting to turn it on when riding at night or accidentally leaving it on in the garage all evening — it turns on automatically with movement and turns off after being stationary for a full minute. Gotta love kinetic energy.

Here’s my favorite part, though: the brake light works just like your car’s brakes. When you decelerate, it lights up, alerting those around you that you’re braking. How great would this be for preventing bike accidents on busy roads?

To save battery, the light dims when you’re in strong light and brightens when it’s darker, making sure you’re visible at all times. The battery is USB chargeable, meaning it can even be plugged into your computer! But you won’t have to charge that often — the battery is set up to last for three months based on average usage. I wish my iPhone battery lasted that long.

This is basically the ultimate way to stay safe and “smart” while cruising around, whether you’re in a crowded city or on a rural road. We give it a thumbs up for amateur bikers and road raging cyclists alike.
Want one? It’s currently a Kickstarter project, so be sure to head over there and back it to snag one for yourself!
