The 23rd edition of the Continental BIKE Festival Willingen will take place on the last weekend of September (24-26 September 2021) and not as planned from 27-29 August.

By this postponement the organiser wants to attain the best possible planning reliability, to make sure that the popular German mountain bike event can happen this year after the pandemic-related pause in 2020.

Bielefeld/Willingen, 03 March 2021. For more than 20 years the Continental BIKE Festival Willingen with a big outdoor expo and spectacular race events has attracted tens of thousands mountain bike fans to the Sauerland region each year. Usually as the season opener in May, but this year – due to the Covid-19 pandemic – everything is different. “In these challenging times and after the break in 2020, we have set ourselves the goal of hosting the BIKE Festival in Willingen again in 2021 to offer all mountain bike fans a special experience,” emphasizes Linda Schroeder, event manager of the organizing Delius Klasing Verlag.

The top priority is the health and safety of the participants, exhibitors and all the people involved. To ensure this, the organizer is working on a comprehensive prevention concept. “Also, after recent consultations with the local authorities as well as our sponsors and partners and a new assessment of the current development, we came to the conclusion that the latest possible date in 2021 offers the biggest chance of hosting the BIKE Festival this year. Therefore the event will be postponed to late September”, says Schroeder.

Already booked tickets for one of the races automatically remain valid for the new date. The same applies to tickets that have already been transferred from 2020. Participants can ask their questions by email to service@yunique.de or by phone under +49 (40) 319792910.
