Partnering for Change: World Bicycle Relief
In addition to unveiling new adventures, Headwater is using Bike Week to shine a light on its evolving partnership with World Bicycle Relief (WBR) — a nonprofit organization that provides bicycles to underserved communities around the globe.
“In 2025, we’ve committed to purchasing 50 of WBR’s Buffalo Bicycles, specially built for rural terrain,” said Paul Britchford, Head of Operations at Headwater. “These bikes will empower women, schoolchildren, healthcare workers, and families across Uganda, providing vital access to education, healthcare, and income.”
With 42% of Uganda’s population living below the poverty line, the role of transport is pivotal. Headwater aims to raise £12,000 to fund bikes and services that support over 1,000 women and girls this year. For every booking made in 2025, the company will donate to WBR on the customer’s behalf.
