Huxlo, a young Bristol-based design studio have started distributing their own take on the bicycle wall mount, a simple solution born from genuine necessity. Digitally designed, manufactured and hand-finished in the UK from from high quality and sustainable FSC approved timber, Maurad is the flat-packed, easy to use, and affordable answer to a common bicycle storage problem. Matthew Mew, Director at Huxlo explains that “we wanted to design a product that simplifies busy lives”, demonstrating that user experience is at the heart of Huxlo’s design process, from concept to completion.
With safe and secure bike storage being an ongoing problem for commuting cyclists, Huxlo created a solution from a simple concept design and many iterations that would keep their bikes indoors, off of the floor and save on valuable floor space. MAURAD arrives as a flat-packed kit, ready for self-assembly. Its precision cut and manufactured parts mean that all of the components fit together perfectly forming a solid and durable mount.

The beautiful light birch plywood of MAURAD is signature to the Huxlo aesthetic, which is inspired by Scandinavian design.
Every MAURAD is precision-manufactured in Bristol using state-of-the-art robotics prior to hand finishing with care by professionals. MAURAD is crafted from carefully selected, high quality materials that are sustainable and locally sourced. We use UK grown timber from FSC certified forests, to reduce embodied energy, socially benefit indigenous people and contribute to stabilizing the economy, embracing sustainability as a core principle of the company.
