The latest additions to the GCN+ portfolio of original films take cycling fans into track centre for the inaugural UCI Track Champions League and into the vaults to discover the history of cycling technology

GCN+, the home of year-round cycling content, will release four exclusive original documentaries and the first four episodes of the groundbreaking docuseries Back on Track in April, alongside a full schedule of ad-free, live and on-demand racing.

Released on GCN+ on April 4th with five weekly episodes, Back on Track follows a select group of athletes as they navigate the first ever season of the UCI Track Champions League, unearthing the intense rivalries, gripping tension and unlikely friendships forged both on and off the track. Over the course of five 35-minute episodes, the series takes viewers behind the scenes of the 75kmh sprints and lung-busting solo attacks of the ambitious new league, from the perspective of the riders.

MARK BEAUMONT – AROUND BRITAIN
Exclusive to GCN+

This month, cycling fans will discover Ottile Quince’s inspirational story and find out what it takes to win Gold for Great Britain at the World Transplant Games in Cycling Changed My Life: Ottile Quince.

In Cycling’s Super Collectors, cycling memorabilia aficionado, Jon Cannings, meets five collectors from around the world for a rare look at the most interesting items in their collections – including Miguel Indurain’s hour-record breaking Pinarello and some truly unique 90’s bike designs.

Next, in The Decade That Changed Cycling Forever, Olympic medallist and track World Champion, Rob Hayles, is joined by cycling icons Greg LeMond, Pippa York, Sean Kelly, Phil Anderson and Giovanni Battaglin as he steps back in time to discover the most innovative era for bicycle design – the mid 1980s-90s.

Finally, in Around Britain, Mark Beaumont and his support team discover what it will take – mentally, physically, and logistically – to cycle around the world in less than 80 days. This film documents the epic 3500 mile ‘trial run’ around the coast of Britain that Mark and his team took on ahead of his world record attempt.

BACK ON TRACK: EPISODE 1

Ahead of the UCI Track Champions League there are a lot of unknowns to manage – how will the riders and the crowd react to this new format? Which athletes have carried enough momentum from the World Championships to win?  In this episode, we go behind the scenes ahead of the event to get to know the riders ready to give it their all on the track.

CYCLING CHANGED MY LIFE: OTTILIE QUINCE

This film tells the inspirational story of British Transplant Cyclist Ottilie Quince. From her home on the Island of Mallorca, Ottilie shares her epic journey from kidney transplant survivor to British, European, and World champion.

Tuesday 12th April
BACK ON TRACK: EPISODE 2

Round 1 of the UCI Track Champions League in Mallorca: the action continues. Episode 2 delves into the rivalries and unlikely friendships developing on the boards as the new league hits the ground running.

CYCLING’S SUPER COLLECTORS

Cycling memorabilia aficionado Jon Cannings gives a detailed look into some of cycling’s rarest items from avid collectors including Miguel Indurain’s hour-record breaking Pinarello.

BACK ON TRACK: EPISODE 3

Round 2 of the UCI Track Champions League in Lithuania: after a game-changing inaugural event in Mallorca, the riders return to the track. Untold stories, personalities and hidden motivations are further unveiled as the riders push hard for every point.

Friday 22nd April
THE DECADE THAT CHANGED CYCLING FOREVER

Bike Tech Wizard, Olympic medallist, and track World Champion, Rob Hayles, takes a nostalgic look at cycling tech of the mid 80s and 90s: the most innovative era ever in bicycle design.

Tuesday 26th April
BACK ON TRACK: EPISODE 4

Round 3 of the UCI Track Champions League in London: the league visits the iconic Lee Valley Velodrome. Packed crowds deliver a supercharged atmosphere as the riders enter a high-pressure back-to-back finale.

Friday 29th April
MARK BEAUMONT – AROUND BRITAIN

Mark Beaumont takes on his first supported endurance ride as he cycles over 3500 miles around Britain in under 15 days. This training ride was designed to test his mental and physical ability in preparation to attempt to become the fastest person to cycle around the globe.
