LaStelvioSantini 2025
The 2025 edition of LaStelvioSantini was more than just a Granfondo, it was a tribute to two centuries of cycling history and mountain majesty. Held on June 8th, this year’s race coincided with the 200th anniversary of the Stelvio Pass, one of the most iconic and revered climbs in the sport.
With 1,800 riders from 50 countries converging on the Alta Valtellina region, the thirteenth edition of the event delivered a spectacular showcase of grit, glory, and Alpine grandeur. From the cobbled streets of Bormio to the snow-lined switchbacks of the Stelvio, the atmosphere was electric.
Climbers Take the Crown
In a format designed to prioritise safety and celebrate climbing prowess, only the ascents were timed, no descents, no drafting games, just pure uphill power. The coveted King and Queen of the Mountain jerseys were awarded to the fastest climbers across three routes.
- Long Route (130 km, 4,270 m elevation gain):
Featuring the brutal Mortirolo and the Stelvio summit finish, this route crowned Martina Cavallo and Fabio Lanzone as the undisputed climbing champions. - Medium Route (108 km, 3,050 m):
With Rogorbello and Stelvio climbs on the menu, Mariagrazia Molteni and Simone Donghi topped the leaderboard. - Short Route (64 km, 2,280 m):
A direct assault on the Stelvio Pass saw Carmen Broger and Denis Taccola rise above the rest.
A Ride Through History
This year’s edition was steeped in historical significance. The Stelvio Pass, completed in 1825 by the Austrian Empire, was originally built to connect Lombardy and Tyrol. Today, it stands as a monument to human ambition and engineering, and a bucket-list climb for cyclists worldwide.
With its 88 hairpin turns and panoramic views, the Stelvio continues to inspire awe. And during LaStelvioSantini, it becomes a proving ground for amateurs chasing their own legends.
More Than a Race
Organized by US Bormiese and supported by Santini Cycling, LaStelvioSantini has grown into a global celebration of cycling culture. Whether tackling the full 130 km or savoring the Stelvio alone, every rider becomes part of a shared story—one of challenge, camaraderie, and the enduring allure of the mountains.
